BEST IN SHOW:
1938 Bugatti Type 57C Aravis Special

This coveted award represents the pinnacle of automotive excellence, honouring the finest vehicle on display. It is presented to the car that exemplifies superior craftsmanship, outstanding restoration, and historical significance. This award celebrates not only the car's exceptional beauty and performance but also its ability to captivate and inspire automotive enthusiasts.

The 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Aravis Special is a masterpiece of automotive artistry styled by Jean Bugatti and crafted by Gangloff. Named Aravis after a mountain pass in the French Alps, this model is extraordinarily rare, being one of only four created, and one of just two built on the supercharged Type 57C chassis. Originally delivered to renowned Bugatti racing driver Maurice Trintignant, the vehicle was raced at the 1939 Grand Prix du Comminges. Showcased at prestigious events like the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where it won First in Class, the Bugatti was later displayed in the Mullin Automotive Museum. Following Mullin's death in 2023, this historic Bugatti set a world record for the marque at auction, continuing its legacy as a marvel of automotive history.

SPIRIT OF NOOSA CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE:
1932 Chevrolet BA Confederate Moonlight Speedster
The Spirit of Noosa Concours d'Elegance Award is a prestigious accolade bestowed upon the vehicle that best embodies the essence of elegance, craftsmanship, and historical significance. This award celebrates not only the aesthetic beauty and meticulous restoration of the automobile but also honours the passion and dedication of its owner in preserving automotive heritage.

Built exclusively by Holden Motor Body Builders and sold as production models from 1931 to 1932 and only to the Australian market, the Chevrolet Moonlight Speedster bodies were hand-formed in aluminium over a timber frame on a right-hand drive imported Chevrolet chassis, using as much Australian content as possible. Found in a timber yard in 1955, it was totally restored in the late 1970s and underwent a bare metal re-restoration in 2019-2020 and was painted in its original factory colour scheme of Glamour Red (two tone maroon) to replicate as closely as possible how it would have looked when new on the showroom floor in 1932. Now restored to its former glory, this Moonlight Speedster is the sole known survivor worldwide of as few as 10 built and is a real testament to the skills of Australian tradesmen during the infancy of our motoring heritage.
