Noosa Concours d’Elegance is proudly led and delivered by the Hastings Street Association on behalf of the businesses of Hastings Street, created to showcase and share this iconic precinct for one special day each year.
The event’s origins trace back to the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club, which hosted a car show in the Noosa Heads Lions Park from the late 1980’s. Over time, the event became increasingly challenging for Noosa and the management of the precinct, prompting a new conversation. Through engagement between the Hastings Street Association and Car Club committee members Rob van Wegen, Bruce Anderson and Mike Rider, a vision emerged - to close Hastings Street for a single day and present an elegant display of exceptional vehicles, akin to a mobile art exhibition.
Recognising the unique beauty and scale of Hastings Street, a Concours d’Elegance format was considered a natural fit. With a defined footprint, the concept centred on selecting 50 of the finest vehicles each year, creating a refined and highly considered showcase.
As interest grew, local business operators embraced the opportunity to be part of something distinctive for Noosa. The Hastings Street Association brought the vision to life, shaping an event that celebrates automotive excellence in one of Australia’s most iconic beachfront settings.
Noosa Concours is now recognised as one of the country’s leading automotive events, drawing exceptional vehicles and enthusiasts from across Australia. The contribution of the Car Club remains integral, with its members continuing to play an active role in leading a team of knowledgeable vehicle stewards whose expertise and enthusiasm enhance the experience for entrants and guests alike.
Today, the event brings together collectors, entrants, enthusiasts and admirers in a celebration of design, craftsmanship, heritage and innovation. Since its inaugural event in 2023, Noosa Concours d’Elegance has continued to build its profile, and we look forward to sharing this next chapter with you.
