BEST IN SHOW:
1935 Bugatti Type 57 Atalante

This coveted award represents the pinnacle of automotive excellence, honouring the finest vehicle on display. It is presented to the car that exemplifies superior craftsmanship, outstanding restoration, and historical significance. This award celebrates not only the car's exceptional beauty and performance but also its ability to captivate and inspire automotive enthusiasts.

This rare Bugatti Type 57 began life as one of 10 Grand Raid two-seater roadster chassis but was completed at the factory with Atalante coachwork. Delivered new on 18 May 1935 to a client in Lyon, France, it’s one of only three such examples ever built worldwide. The fate of the other two Atalante-bodied cars remains unknown.

Retaining its original chassis, engine, gearbox, and coachwork, all factory-numbered and matching, the car has passed through the hands of several prominent American and European collectors.

The car has undergone an extensive restoration, carried out with an uncompromising focus on originality and conservation. Today, it stands as a superbly presented example of the iconic Jean Bugatti–inspired, Joseph Walter design, and remains one of the most significant coach built Bugattis of the pre-war era.

BEST CLASSIC CARS

The Best Classic Car Awards celebrate the most outstanding vehicles from a bygone era, timeless design, historical significance, and meticulous restoration. These prestigious awards are given to the classic cars that exemplify the artistry and craftsmanship of their time, capturing the essence of automotive heritage.

BEST CLASSIC CAR (Pre 1945):
1935 BMW 315/1 Roadster

The rarest variant of BMW’s popular 315 series, the 315/1 Roadster was a lightweight, performance-focused machine developed for both road use and motorsport. Powered by a 1.5-litre straight-six fitted with triple side-draft carburettors, it featured independent front suspension, a live rear axle with semi-elliptical springs, and hydraulic dampers, providing balance and agility well ahead of its time. Just 242 examples were produced, with many campaigned in period circuit racing and hill climbs.

This example was delivered on 14 April 1935 to its first owner in Augsburg, Bavaria, originally finished in green with grey upholstery. Registered in Switzerland by 1960, it passed through three Swiss owners before being acquired by its former owner in 2014. A full restoration was entrusted to renowned restorer René Große, with over $1 million invested between 2015 and 2024.

Acquired by the current owner in 2024, this beautifully presented 315/1 stands among the finest of its kind in existence today.

BEST CLASSIC CAR (Post 1945):
1970 Lamborghini Miura P400S

There are certain cars that are notable milestones in the automotive landscape, and the Lamborghini Miura is unquestionably one of them. First unveiled in 1966, the Miura was Lamborghini’s first mid-engine V12, positioning the engine behind the cockpit and ahead of the rear wheels, an architecture that would become the blueprint for generations of supercars. It is widely regarded as the first supercar and the most beautiful car ever made.

Penned by Marcello Gandini for Bertone, the Miura captivated the world with its bold, sleek lines, low-slung silhouette, and signature “eyelash” headlight surrounds that became synonymous with the Lamborghini brand. The lead engineer was Gian Dallara.

Introduced at the 1968 Turin Motor Show, the Miura P400S (Miura S) offered refined performance and comfort over its predecessor. Only 338 examples were built between 1969 and 1971, with this car being one of just six delivered new to Australia.

Expertly restored by its previous owner, it has since claimed numerous accolades, including Best in Show at the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance, Auto Italia Canberra, and the 110 Years of Bertone class at Motorclassica.

BEST MODERN CAR:
2005 Porsche Carrera GT

The Best Modern Car Award celebrates the finest vehicle from the last 30 years of production, recognising outstanding design, innovation, and engineering. This award honours a car that not only showcases cutting-edge technology and performance but also exemplifies contemporary style and sophistication.

Developed from Porsche’s Formula One and Le Mans programs, the Porsche Carrera GT is widely considered the greatest driving supercar ever made, pushing the technological boundaries beyond any supercar of its time.

Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.7-litre V10 engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, the Carrera GT delivers 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reaches 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 330 km/h. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels, underscoring the analogue nature of this exceptional machine.

Porsche pioneered the use of pure carbon fibre in its construction, with the chassis, rear subframe, and body panels all made from the lightweight material. Just 1,270 examples were built globally, with only six delivered to Australia.

A genuine icon, the Carrera GT remains one of the last great analogue hypercars, rare, uncompromising, and unforgettable. This is the only Carrera GT registered in Queensland.

BEST PRESERVATION:
1905 Eugène Brillié 20/24 HP

The Best Preservation Award category is dedicated to the vehicles that have been maintained in their original condition rather than restored. The Award recognises the vehicle that has retained its original components, finishes, and overall integrity as they were when first built, with minimal changes over time.

A product of the brilliant mind of Eugène Brillié, this 1905 20/24 HP is believed to be the sole surviving example of its kind worldwide. Brillié first gained prominence through his partnership with Gustave Gobron, co-developing the innovative opposed-piston engine that earned Gobron-Brillié speed records, including the distinction of being the first car to reach 160 km/h.

In 1903, Brillié established his own marque, Automobiles Eugène Brillié, producing his earliest cars with a two-cylinder 12 HP design. By 1904, he had progressed to the more refined 20 HP four-cylinder engine, as seen in this example.

Originally rented in France by British tourists during a touring holiday, the car impressed its occupants so much they imported it to England, where it remained in use until 1928. Hidden away for decades, it was rediscovered in the 1950s and fully restored between the late 1970s and early 1990s. Now 120 years old, it was recently awarded second in class at the 2025 Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance.

SPIRIT OF NOOSA CONCOURS D'ELEGANCE:
1988 Giocattolo Group B

The Spirit of Noosa Concours d’Elegance Award celebrates not only the aesthetic beauty and meticulous restoration of the automobile but also honours the passion and dedication of its owner in preserving automotive heritage.

Giocattolo Motori Pty Ltd was founded in 1986 by sports car enthusiast Paul Halstead and former Formula One designer Barry Lock. The company’s name comes from the Italian word for “toy”. Although the company was short-lived, folding in 1989, its ambition left a lasting impression.

Built in Caloundra on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the Giocattolo began life as an Alfa Romeo Sprint which was then heavily modified to accept a mid-mounted Alfa Romeo V6 engine. However, by the fourth prototype, the complexity and cost of importing and fitting the V6 led to its replacement with the new fuel injected Holden engine developed for Group A racing.

Chassis #10 is one of just 15 Giocattolo Group B cars ever built and remains an exceptionally rare example of a bold attempt to produce a world-class performance car. Retaining its original paint, interior and matching numbers engine, it stands today as a remarkable survivor and a fascinating piece of Australian motoring history.

PEOPLE'S CHOICE and NEXT GEN JUDGES CHOICE:
2016 Pagani Huayra

The People's Choice Award holds a special place at Noosa Concours, as it allows every attendee to participate in the judging process and cast their votes for their most beloved vehicle. The Next Gen (Generation) Award is a unique accolade presented to the vehicle chosen by our young automotive enthusiasts in the Next Gen Program, celebrating the car that truly makes them go "wow".

Among the extraordinary line-up of automotive marvels, one car emerged as the clear favourite for both awards - the 2016 Pagani Huayra.

The Pagani Huayra represents Horacio Pagani’s tireless pursuit of perfection, following eight years of relentless research and evolution in search of the finest technical solutions. The result is a car that is not only a performance marvel but a moving work of art.

Built on a revolutionary carbo-titanium monocoque, the Huayra is powered by a Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged V12 engine, delivering an astonishing 730 horsepower. Every component, from the chassis to the smallest titanium bolt, each individually inscribed with the Pagani insignia, reflects an unparalleled dedication to precision and flawless execution.

This example is one of just 100 Huayras produced worldwide and one of only 21 right-hand drive cars ever built. Having driven only 180 km since new, this Huayra remains in pristine showroom condition.

A remarkable fusion of art, engineering, and exclusivity, the Pagani Huayra stands as one of the most extraordinary supercars of the modern era.

The winning vehicles and their proud owners were celebrated during a special Awards Presentation presented by Qatar Executive at Sofitel Noosa. This gathering allowed us to honour the remarkable achievements and contributions that these vehicles have made to the world of luxury motoring.
