Originally conceived by Paul England in 1955 while working at Repco’s Research Facility in Coburg, Victoria, the TR Ausca was heavily influenced by the Maserati A6GCS, a design that helped define mid-century sports racing aesthetics. England is believed to have produced between 14 and 16 bodies based on his original design, each sold privately. This example wears one of those rare original shells.
After the body was produced, records tracing its development to a vehicle are limited until 1964, the year of its first known registration and its initial entry in the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport (CAMS) logbook. Over the years, the Ausca has alternated between road and race use, body and mechanical works, and periods of storage.
In 2019, the current owners embarked on a bold, period-focused restoration, inspired by a vision of minimalism, elegance, and a 1950’s fusion of road and race appeal. Completed in 2024, the result is a faithful yet refined expression of Australia’s homegrown motorsport heritage, elevated by thoughtful detailing and craftsmanship.
