#28
1972 Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3

Engine: 6.3 litre - 8 cylinder
Output: 247 horsepower - 184kW

Produced between 1968 and 1972, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.3 redefined luxury with its pioneering super saloon design. Recognised as the fastest sedan of its time, it boasts a powerful 6.3 litre M100 V8 engine, initially developed for the 600 limousine, and housed in a chassis typically reserved for six-cylinder models.

First unveiled at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, this 300 SEL 6.3 was lavishly equipped for its era, featuring air suspension, Dunlop tyres, an electric sunroof, power windows, central locking, and power steering. This car was first delivered to Stanley Livingstone of Yea, Victoria, in February 1973, sporting a metallic blue exterior.

After a meticulous 100-point restoration by Sleeping Beauties in February 2002, the car clinched Best in Class at Motorclassica in 2010, along with numerous other accolades. Following periods of storage after the passing of its previous owners, this iconic vehicle has been lovingly preserved and recently completed another refresh by Sleeping Beauties, securing its legacy.
