The Lamborghini Silhouette was the first open-roofed production car in the marque's history and remains one of its rarest models, with only 54 examples built between 1976 and 1978. Its limited production run reflected Lamborghini’s financial difficulties at the time, rather than any flaw in the car itself.
Of those 54 cars, only 10 were factory-built in right-hand drive, with six delivered to Australia, three to the United Kingdom and one to Cyprus. This particular example is one of the three UK-delivered cars and, according to factory records, is one of the very last Silhouettes produced.
Imported to Australia by its current owners in July 2009, the car remained silver for much of its life before recently undergoing a cosmetic restoration, returning it to its striking original Lamborghini “Giallo” (yellow) finish.
Today, the Silhouette is a highly sought-after and collectible mid-engined V8 Lamborghini, offering a rare glimpse into one of the brand’s most distinctive and short-lived creations.
