Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Lamborghini Miura P400 SV

#9
1972 Lamborghini Miura P400 SV

Engine: 4.0 litre - 12 cylinder
Output: 380 horsepower - 283kW

The Lamborghini Miura, produced from 1966 to 1973, pioneered the rear mid-engined two-seat layout, revolutionising sports car design. Originally conceived in secret by Lamborghini’s engineering team who envisioned a road car with racing pedigree, the Miura was designed in their spare time at night, before eventually winning the approval of Ferruccio Lamborghini.

This Miura, one of just 150 SV models made between 1971 and 1973, boasts a top speed of 300 kph. It was one of two new cars purchased in Italy by Australian distributor, Peter Mitchell, and converted to right-hand drive at the factory. With just five documented owners, only two in the last 35 years, it remains one of only 11 right-hand drive models.

Retaining its original Rosso Corsa red hue, matching engine, chassis, and all original body panels, the Miura has remained in Australia since its arrival. As one of the final models produced before the end of its series, this rare Miura SV perfectly embodies Lamborghini’s innovative spirit.
