Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Lamborghini Countach LP400

#30
1976 Lamborghini Countach LP400

Engine: 3.9 litre - 12 cylinder
Output: 370 horsepower

Produced from 1974 to 1978, the LP400 was the first production model in the Countach line and the successor to the Miura. Designed by Marcello Gandini, its sharp, angular lines and signature scissor doors set a design trend that is carried into the present day. Nicknamed the ‘Periscopio’ for the distinctive periscopic mirror in the original prototype, the LP400 remains one of the rarest Countach variants, with as few as 150 built and only 22 delivered in right-hand drive configuration.

This 1976 example is one of those rare right-hand drive cars, originally delivered to Australia. Retaining its original interior and powered by a mid-mounted 4.0-litre V12 producing 370 horsepower, it was restored four years ago and remains in exceptional Concours condition. It was last shown at the 2021 Sydney Concours d’Elegance, where it was awarded Best Restoration.

A compelling blend of rarity, innovation, and presence, the LP400 captures the essence of the early Countach legacy.
