Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Jaguar XK150 S DHC

#18
1959 Jaguar XK150 S DHC

Engine: 3.4 litre - 6 cylinder
Output: 250 horsepower - 186kW

Introduced in 1957, the XK150 was the final evolution of Jaguar’s iconic XK series. While maintaining the classic XK charm, it included significant enhancements including a curved windscreen replacing the earlier split screen, and an expanded, more spacious interior.

This 1959 XK150 S Drophead Coupé was originally delivered to Henleys in London in 1959 and later shipped to New South Wales. It underwent a laborious, fully documented restoration that began in 1991 by its third owner, a solicitor from Potts Point. The restoration, completed in 2014 after 23 years, involved the expertise of three body builders/painters, one trimmer, and two mechanical workshops, with numerous parts sourced directly from England. After its completion, the vehicle was sold to the Gosford Museum.

Acquired by its current owner in early 2018, the vehicle underwent further refinements under highly regarded Jaguar restoration expert, Tom Armstrong who devoted hundreds of hours to ensure every detail was perfected. Now in pristine condition, this XK150 S makes its post-restoration show debut, showcasing its flawless craftmanship.
