Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Jaguar XK120 Roadster

#6
1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster

Engine: 3.4 litre - 6 cylinder
Output: 158 horsepower - 118kW

This factory left-hand drive Jaguar XK120 Roadster was completed on 8 June, 1951, and delivered to Hornborg in Los Angeles, remaining in the United States until the late 1980s when it was sold and imported to Australia. Boasting a 3.4 litre, 6-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower, it retains its original matching numbers engine block, affirming its authenticity.

First unveiled at the London Motor Show in 1948, the XK120 caused an immediate sensation. Its introduction marked a pivotal moment for Jaguar, and the overwhelming public response prompted founder and design boss, William Lyons, to put it into production. Dubbed the “120” for its 120 mph top speed, it was the world’s fastest production car at the time. It was available in two open versions, the roadster and drophead coupe, and later, a fixed head coupe.

Meticulously restored in the 1990s, this Roadster still shows exceptionally low mileage on the odometer at only 2,792 miles (4,493 km). Its blend of historic significance and preserved beauty make it a prized collector's piece.
