Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Jaguar E-Type Series 1

#22
1964 Jaguar E-Type Series 1

Engine: 4.2 litre - 6 cylinder
Output: 265 horsepower

Unveiled at the Geneva Salon in March 1961, the Jaguar E-Type captivated the world’s attention. Its long bonnet, rounded rear, and minimalist grille combined elegance and speed in a way few cars had before. Powered by a 4.2-litre inline six-cylinder engine capable of reaching 240 km/h, the E-Type quickly became one of the most desirable sports cars of its era.

This example is the fourth right-hand drive 4.2-litre E-Type Roadster built, making it one of the earliest in existence. It retains its original matching numbers engine and chassis and is accompanied by its factory optional hardtop.

Delivered new to New Zealand on 12 November 1964, the car remained there until it was acquired by the current owner and imported to Australia in 2018. A meticulous restoration by Concours Sportscar Restoration, completed in 2020, returned the car to its original Carmen Red with black interior. Over half a century since its debut, this extraordinary E-Type continues to captivate audiences with its timeless beauty and presence.
