This 1963 Jaguar E-Type represents an extraordinary fusion of classic style and modern engineering. It is the first of only eleven limited edition cars crafted by Gavin King of GTE Engineering and Concours Sportscar Restoration.
Starting with an original 6-cylinder E-Type as a donor, the restoration process involves retaining the original steel monocoque body while all external panels, including the complete bonnet, doors, and hardtop, are handcrafted in aluminium, mirroring the specifications of the eleven lightweight E-Types produced by Jaguar in the early 1960s.
These cars undergo a comprehensive re-engineering process, enhancing not just performance but also ergonomics and practicality. Modern upgrades include integrated electric air conditioning, GPS-sensitive electric power-assisted steering, electronic throttle body fuel injection, and a 5-speed transmission. The result is a vehicle that is not only fast and agile on the racetrack but also supremely comfortable and reliable as a daily driver.
