This 1936 Horch 853 Sport Cabriolet, understood to be one of only four right-hand drive models produced, was first registered in London and has since become a celebrated classic. Crafted by Voll and Ruhbeck coachbuilders, this model epitomises the elegance Horch was known for, striving to rival the likes of Mercedes Benz with its long, low, and swoopy Spezial Roadster body.
Extensively restored from 1993 to 2001 in Treviso, Italy, this 853 Sport Cabriolet had its wooden frame largely replaced, the original engine meticulously overhauled by German specialists, and the interior refinished with new wood and black leather, all while retaining its original dashboard.
Produced between 1935 and 1937, the Horch 853 models are now lauded as some of the finest cars of the 1930s and can be regularly seen in Concours d'Elegance events worldwide.
