Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Honda NSX

#39
1991 Honda NSX

Engine: 3.0 litre - 6 cylinder
Output: 270 horsepower

This 1991 Honda NSX is the original Japanese supercar - 100% factory original and preserved in showroom condition. Now 34 years old, it has travelled just 53,000 km, presenting as a remarkable example of early 1990s performance engineering.

The NSX was the first production car to feature an all-aluminium chassis, suspension and body panels. Built as a two-seater, mid-engined sports car, it combined lightweight construction with balanced handling.

Manufactured from 1990 through to 2005, the NSX was first previewed in 1984 when Honda commissioned Italian design house Pininfarina to develop a concept car known as the HP-X (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental). That concept evolved into a working prototype - NS-X, standing for New Sportscar eXperimental, which ultimately became the NSX.

This vehicle is an exceptionally preserved example from the very beginning of the model’s production. An NSX in its purest form, with a 5-speed manual transmission and non-power assisted steering, it offers a rare opportunity to view a piece of Japanese motoring history in near-new condition.
