The 1983 DeLorean DMC12 stands as a unique automotive icon, being the sole production model crafted by the DeLorean Motor Company (DMC). Production of the DMC12 spanned from late 1980 until Christmas Eve 1982, with the factory situated in Belfast, Northern Ireland, making it one of the few Irish cars ever produced.
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, under the direction of John DeLorean, the DMC-12 is noted for its gull-wing doors and brushed stainless-steel outer body panels. Though its production was short-lived, the DeLorean became widely known after it was featured as the time machine in the Back to the Future films.
This particular car, bearing the serial number #63195, was among those left partially built on the production line following the bankruptcy of the DeLorean Motor Company in February 1982. These cars were later completed by workers brought back to complete the task. These workers, aware of their future job security and their place in automotive history, began autographing the inside of the stainless steel panels. This is one of those cars.
