Noosa Concours d’Elegance | Delage D6-70 Milord Cabriolet

#2
1936 Delage D6-70 Milord Cabriolet

Engine: 2.7 litre - 6 cylinder
Output: 90 horsepower

This Delage D6-70 Milord Cabriolet, cloaked in the iconic design of Figoni et Falaschi, is a beautifully restored example of the first post-merger Delage model.

As the first cabriolet convertible among a limited series built on the Delage D6-70 chassis in 1936, it was originally delivered to Madam Jeanne Menesson, a member of the Automobile Club Feminin de France and wife of Solex carburettor inventor, Marcel Menesson.

Under new ownership the vehicle was exported to the UK in 1946 before eventually returning to France where it underwent a full engine and transmission rebuild, later followed by a 2-year no-expense-spared restoration. Stripped down to its foundation, every component was dismantled and restored with the strictest attention to detail.

The vehicle triumphed at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, winning The French Cup for Best French Car and securing Second in Class for Pre-war vehicles, reaffirming its standing as a masterpiece of French automotive design.
