First delivered in London in August 1927 to John and Lavina Fuller of Fuller Theatres in Sydney, this Rolls-Royce Phantom I was originally commissioned for £2,885. Featuring a Windovers limousine body, it toured the continent before being imported to Australia.
Noted for its luxury, the Phantom includes a rear cabin with a retractable glass partition, a cocktail cabinet, curtains, and a speaking tube for passengers to communicate with the driver. It retains its full original toolkit including a jack and hand-pump.
In the late 1990s, Queensland restorer Alan Robert discovered the car in pieces with its chassis repurposed as part of a fence, and its parts scattered in boxes. Alan embarked on a 15-year restoration journey that included the re-machinery and re-assembly of the engine, the replacement of the original body with a Jackson, Jones & Collins body, and painstaking sourcing of parts from all over the world.
Following its extensive restoration, this Phantom I has won numerous Queensland and Australian awards, including Best in Class at the Annual Concours of the Queensland Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2022, celebrating its enduring heritage and Australian Coachwork.
